Chhattisgarh Director General of Police Ashok Juneja on Wednesday underlined the need for effective action against online gambling, gambling, betting, illegal trade of illegal liquor and drugs.

He was holding a meeting of Superintendents of Police and Range Inspectors of Police of all the districts through video conferencing.

He was reviewing the status of action taken by the districts in the last month.

He asked the officials to take strict and effective legal and preventive action against the persons. Action being taken against chit fund companies was reviewed. The Superintendents of Police were directed that in the cases in which attachment and auction has been ordered by the Special Court, the properties of those cases should be auctioned immediately. The amount received should be returned to the investors. Immediate action should be taken.

Keeping in view the forthcoming proposed assembly elections, he called for preparing the list of active criminals and anti-social elements. Effective legal action against notorious criminals under NSA and district ‘Badar’ and action against absconding criminals and warranties.

All the Superintendents of Police were asked that in the coming days, weekly review of the action being taken in the districts will be done. The Superintendents of Police should take special interest and ensure effective action.
