CG NEWS: The Indian Language Festival 2023: 'My Language, My Signature' The campaign at Kalinga University

RAIPUR: 11th December 2023 is observed as the birthday of poet and freedom fighterSubramania Bharathi as Bharatiya Bhasha Diwas, marked with Bhratiya Bhasha Utsav. This is an occasion to celebrate the diversity of India Languages and encourage building of deeper connections in the hearts and minds of the youth. 

To take this endeavor ahead, Kalinga University is organizing and celebrating the Indian Language Festival – 2023 worth the theme ‘Language Diversity, One Emotion’ from September 28 to December 11, 2023, to commemorate the centenary of the eminent poet, freedom fighter Subramanya Bharathi, who was a pioneer in Tamil poetry. 

Kalinga University will organize multiple events to promote linguistic supremacy as part of this endeavour, with the first step featuring the 'My Language, My Signature' campaign which was organised on October 17. The first phase of the event named 'My Language, My Signature' witnessedstudentsfrom India and overseas studying at the University actively participating by signing in their respective languages. Dr. Sandeep Gandhi, the Registrar of the University, stated that the main objective of this festival is to promote the mother tongue, strengthen multilingualism, and encourage students to learn more languages while fostering a sense of unity in diversity among them.

The event was successfully led by Dr. Ajay Shukla-Head of the Hindi Department, Lt. Vibha Chandrakar, Assistant Professor-Fashion Design Department and Associate NCC officer Army Wing, Ms. Ayushi Kuchanwar, Assistant-NCC Department, Mohd. Yunus Rizvi and Virendra Sahu.
