* For the first time in the history of India, complete command of an assembly is in the hands of women

RAIPUR: A history will be written in independent India’s election as the complete polling process will be conducted by women in the entire Raipur North Assembly constituency of Chhattisgarh on November 17.

The constituency will have an equal number of women presiding officers in 201 booths and 603 polling officers. and all are Sangwari booths. 804 women have been directly entrusted with the responsibility and about 200 women have been kept in reserve. The Observer is Vimla R (IAS) and her Liaisoning Officer is also a woman. In most of the booths, the responsibility of security is also the responsibility of women.

Collector and District Election Officer Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure said as soon as the election process started, we got the idea that why not hand over the entire responsibility of elections in an assembly of the district to women. Everyone appreciated the idea, then we planned it.

In Raipur North Assembly, where women officers have been put on duty at all the booths, the sex ratio is 1010, that is, there are 1010 women for every thousand men, he said.

As the polling teams were leaving there was enthusiasm all around. They promised to fulfil the duty with full responsibility, he added.

Bhure further said that in Raipur South Assembly too, there will be only women officers at half the booths. In this way, there will be an important command of elections in the hands of women in Raipur North and Raipur South Assembly.

Nisha Ramteke, associated with the polling team, said that all women teams will be able to complete the work well and with coordination.

Leela Patel said that confidence has been expressed in women, it is a very good thing. It is possible that some people may suspect that if men are not cooperative then women may face problems. Tomorrow it will be proved that women can also fulfill every important responsibility alone.

Uma Verma working in Higher Secondary School, Khamhardih stated that tomorrow a message from the North Assembly will go to the women across the country that they can do their work as successfully as men on every front.
