Walkathon for Energy Conservation at NTPC Lara

Under the observance of Energy Conservation Week 2023, a walkathon organised at NTPC LARA project on 10th December 2023. Under the guidance of Diwakar Kaushik, Executive Director-NTPC Lara, employees and associates visited Maitree Nagar township, holding banners and placards to sensitize employees and associates to understand the need of energy conservation. Though NTPC is a power producing company, it always gives importance to sustainable development. Electricity generation by using conventional energy is a loss of resources. NTPC always gives importance to energy conservation and electricity generation from renewable sources. Energy conservation week is being celebrated from 8 to 14 December 2023 at NTPC Lara station by Energy Efficient Management Group.

Besides sensitizing people for energy conservation, all efforts are being taken to reduce energy consumption by adapting innovative building designs so that during daytime offices can be lit up by sunlight. Sodium halogen street lights have been replaced with LED bulbs.

On this occasion, Akhilesh Singh, GM (Operation & Maintenance), Rajeev Ranjan, GM (Fuel Management), SK Roy, GM (Operation), HODs and employees participated in this walkathon.
