Raipur CG: Minister of Public Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education Shyam Bihari Jaiswal asked the departmental officers to provide better health facilities to all the needy people of the state. Quality health services in all the government hospitals should be ensured.
He was holding a review meeting of the health department officers after taking charge of the work at the Ministry Mahanadi Bhawan here on Monday.
Minister of Public Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education and Twenty Point Program Implementation Shyam Bihari Jaiswal took a meeting with the officials of Public Health and Family Welfare and Medical Department in the Ministry.
He sought detailed information from the officials about the departmental work including national health programmes. In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary of Public Health and Family Welfare Department, Renu G Pillai and other officials were also present.
Minister asked the officials to conduct surprise inspections of government hospitals and implement the Nursing Home Act more effectively. Strict action should be taken against the sale of painkillers without the prescription of doctors.
In the meeting, an in-depth review of other health programs including National Health Mission, Routine Immunization Programme, National Sickle Cell Eradication Mission, National Urban Health Mission, Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Arogya Mandir, National Leprosy Eradication Programme, National Short Vision Control Programme, Sickle Cell Anemia Programme, was carried out.
