Raipur, CG: To sensitize the industrial units about self-compilation of Annual Survey of Industries returns on the web portal, a Round Table Conference was organized by National Statistical Office, Regional Office, Raipur on Tuesday in the Mini Conference Hall of Circuit House, Civil Lines, Raipur.
Roshan Lal Sahu, Deputy Director General, National Statistical Office, Raipur presided over.
Sahu, highlighting the importance of this survey, said that the Annual Survey of Industries is conducted every year by the National Statistical Office according to the Collection of Statistics Act 2008 and the Rules 2011 made under it.
The important data related to capital, turnover, value addition, fuel and raw materials and input-output etc. are collected from industrial units during the reference period. Data related to employment, number of working days and social security benefits are also collected. The data obtained is used for estimation of national income and estimation of Gross Domestic Product.
Sahu, called upon the representatives of the industrial units present to self-compile all the information in the return and submit it on the web portal. He requested the entrepreneurs present to provide correct data.
Anil Nachrani, President, C.G. Sponge Iron Manufacturing Association stressed the authenticity of industrial data and the use of technology in data collection.
The Annual Survey of Industries is conducted every year by the National Statistical Office (Field Operations Division), Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation, Government of India. Under it, the annual returns are filed by the selected industrial units and submitted to the National Statistical Office.
