Akhilesh Singh GM (Operation & Maintenance) NTPC Lara took charge of NTPC Lara station from Diwakar Kaushik, ED on 11th January 2024. Earlier Shri Singh was delivering his service as the head of the operation and maintenance work of Lara station. As head of the project, he shall be responsible for all the activities of Lara station.
An electrical engineer from Bhagalpur University, Akhilesh Singh, joined NTPC as an executive trainee in the year 1993. Prior to Lara, he had rendered his service in NTPC Rihand and country’s largest power plant Vindhyachal in different categories. Shri Singh joined NTPC Lara in 2020 as a general manager (fuel management). In his short stint at Lara Shri Singh has rendered his service as GM (Fuel Management), GM (Maintenance) and GM (Operation & Maintenance).
NTPC Lara station is the fastest growing station of Chhattisgarh with an installed capacity of 1600 megawatt. This station is going to add another 1600 megawatt (2x800). 50 percent generated electricity is supplied to Chhattisgarh state only and the rest amount is supplied to Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujrat, Goa, Daman and Diu. Under the leadership of Shri Akhilesh Singh, Lara station will reach new heights from his 30-year long experience.
