Raipur, Chhattisgarh: Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal conducted a surprise inspection of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital affiliated to Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial Medical College, Raipur.
He inspected the medicine ward and intensive care unit of Ambedkar Hospital and took stock of the treatment arrangements.
Jaiswal interacted with the families of the patients admitted and being treated in the medicine ward and discussed the treatment arrangements.
The Health Minister inspected the intensive care unit of Ambedkar Hospital, sought information about the treatment of serious patients admitted. He asked the doctors on duty to make every possible effort to provide the best treatment.
Inspecting the dialysis unit, the Health Minister said that the number of dialysis machines will be increased if necessary.
He then took a meeting of the senior medical officers and department heads. He asked the hospital authorities to ensure an adequate number of water coolers, fans and coolers should be arranged in the wards and OPDs so that the patients do not face any problem during the summer.
He gave instructions to make the lift system in the hospital even better and easier.
Jaiswal said with the increasing number of patients coming to the hospital for treatment, demand letters regarding necessary medical equipment, upgradation of OT complex and radiology testing machine should be sent again to the hospital and medical college level. If upgraded then in future, patients will not have to wait for all tests related to operations, pathology, biochemistry and microbiology and radiology tests. He directed the installation of an adequate number of CCTV cameras for the security of the hospital.
