Basic Literacy, Numeracy Assessment Test on March 17

Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India: Under the ‘Ullas Nav Bharat Literacy Programme’, the nationwide Basic Literacy and Numeracy Assessment Test will be conducted on March 17 from 10 am to 5 pm. 

 It is being organized on the initiative of the Ministry of Education, Department of School Education and Literacy, Government of India and the National Institute of Open Schooling, New Delhi,

Learners will be able to appear in the examination as per their convenience within the stipulated time. The learner will be given 3 hours to solve the question paper. 

 Director and Member Secretary State Literacy Mission Authority Shri Rajendra Kumar Katara has issued necessary directives to all the District Collectors, Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat and District Education Officers regarding conducting the examination.

 It states that such students will be able to participate in the examination who have not been previously certified under the Reading and Writing Campaign, who have studied in Mohalla Literacy Center or who have appeared in the test of basic literacy and numeracy. 

 On the basis of registration for the examination, a list of students who will participate in the ward-wise assessment of Gram Panchayat and urban body should be prepared. 

 The government school near the ward of the concerned Gram Panchayat or urban body should be made the examination centre. Information about the examination center and time should be compulsorily provided to the students through various mediums.

 Even if the number of students is less at some places, a government school near the ward of Gram Panchayat or urban body should be made the examination centre. It should be kept in mind that under no circumstances should the learners have to move from one place to another. There should be proper arrangements for drinking water, lighting, tables and chairs for sitting students in the examination centre. 

There will be three parts of the question paper – reading, writing and mathematics. Each part will be of 50 marks and it will be mandatory to answer all the questions. Question papers will not be allowed to be taken out of the examination centre. Photography and videography can also be done in the examination centres.
