NTPC Lara observing Swachhta Hi Sewa 2024

Under the observance of Swachhata Hi Sewa 2024 fortnight, NTPC Lara participated in the mass cleaning activities of river Kelo organised by Raigarh Municipal corporation on 20th September 2024 under the leadership of Collector & District Magistrate, Shri Kartikey Goel, IAS. This year is the 10th anniversary of the Swachha Bharat Mission. At NTPC Lara, cleanliness campaign was started with administering swachhata pledge to employees by Anil Kumar, Executive Director (NTPC Lara) on 17th September 2024. This year the theme of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign is ‘Swabhav Swachhata - Sanskar Swachhata’. Besides cleaning activities, plantation drives organised under campaign #Plant4Mother and dustbins were distributed to the shopkeepers for proper waste management. The campaign will focus on greater participation of the public and local bodies. During the campaign, various activities are carried out at different levels, motivating people to imbibe cleanliness in their behaviour.

This year, the “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign will focus on three major points. These include public participation, awareness and advocacy, Shramdaan for cleanliness as the second pillar of the campaign, and rejuvenation of the cleanliness targeted unit. On this theme, places in need of special attention in cleanliness for a long time will be identified. Decisions regarding setting up parks, pathways, and entertainment facilities for children at such places will be taken in the presence of public representatives. As the third pillar of the campaign, decisions will be taken regarding health check-ups and social security of Safai Mitras engaged in cleaning work.

The ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign will conclude on October 2nd, 2024, on ‘Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti’. On this day, efforts will be made to spread Mahatma Gandhi’s concept of cleanliness to people.
