5,000 Raipurians participate in the NH Walkathon for a healthier heart.

RAIPUR,CG,INDIA: MMI Narayana Hospital, a renowned healthcare institution in the state, has been consistently organizing the NH Walkathon for the past 13 years to emphasize the significance of walking for heart health. The primary objective of the NH Walkathon is to raise awareness among the public about the crucial role of physical activity in maintaining a healthy heart, especially on World Heart Day.

The NH Walkathon 2024 commenced on September 28th at 6 AM from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk in Raipur. Participants from all walks of life, including banks, PSUs, and corporates, actively participated to promote a heart-healthy lifestyle. Over 5000 participants achieved a remarkable feat by walking together towards a common goal. Mr. Ajit Kumar Bellamkonda, Facility Director, and Dr. Akshay Kiledar, Senior Hospital Superintendent, along with the entire MMI Narayana Hospital team, dedicatedly worked to ensure the success of this World Heart Day event.

While addressing the participants, Ajit Kumar emphasized the importance of regular physical activity and the commitment of Narayana Hrudayalaya Group towards heart care to prevent heart diseases. He expressed his pride in seeing such a large number of people prioritize their health.

Cardiologists and other doctors from MMI Narayana Hospital were present at the event to enhance awareness about heart health. Notably, Dr. S.S. Padhi, Dr. SunilGouniyal, Dr. P.K. Hari, Dr. Kinjal Bakshi, Dr. Snehil Goswami, Dr. Mohammad Wasim Khan, Dr. Prashant Madharia,Dr.Raghuvendra Ojha, Dr. Rakesh Chand, Dr. Arun Andappan, Dr.Dharmesh Lad, and other doctors like Dr. PradeepSharma Emergency Medicine and Dr. Tarun Mishra Endocrinologist participated. Their presence underscored the doctors' commitment to patient care and raising awareness about heart diseases.

The event was inaugurated with a flag hoisting ceremony by special guests, including Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh IPS and Traffic AIG Sanjay Sharma.

In a special moment of honor, the Chief Guest Health Minister of Chhattisgarh Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, presented mementos to distinguished individuals including Ashutosh Tripathi from KPS School, Manoj Agarwal from Mahindra Sponge, S.K. Ghosh, U.H. Gokhe, and Vilas Mohanty from NTPC, Shanti Bardiya and Praveen Jain from AT Jewellers, Sanjay Sharma from IBC24, Shaji Lukas from My FM, Rakesh Nigam from Times of India, Umesh Unni Krishnan from Sayaji Hotel, Praveen Jain from Rishtey Gift, Om Sahoo from Just Think, and Satish Ji from Ash Media.

Finally, Satnam Singh,Marketing Head from MMI Narayana Hospital, expressed gratitude to the esteemed Health Minister and the Superintendent of Police, and concluded the event with a vote of thanks."
