RAIPUR,CG,BHARAT: Chief Electoral Officer, Chhattisgarh Reena Babasaheb Kangale emphasized on the importance of transparency and fairness, Kangale instructed officials to strictly adhere to the guidelines and procedures set by the Election Commission of India.
She was addressing a training session today for Returning Officers, Assistant Returning Officers, Nodal Officers, and Technical Officers in preparation for the upcoming assembly by-election.
During the session, Kangale highlighted that the by-election process for a vacant assembly seat in the state will begin soon. Once the Election Commission announces the election date, the Model Code of Conduct will immediately come into effect. Officials were directed to inspect all polling stations within the constituency to ensure necessary facilities, including shade, drinking water, toilets, and ramps, are in place for smooth and accessible voting.
Kangale urged mutual coordination among officers to ensure a hassle-free election and encouraged them to resolve any doubts related to their roles. Joint Chief Electoral Officer P.S. Dhruv, Raipur Collector Gaurav Kumar Singh, and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Abinash Mishra were also present at the training.
The one-day training, organized by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, covered various topics across nine sessions, including the Model Code of Conduct, Nomination Process, Election Expenditure Monitoring, Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC), Postal Ballot, EVM management, and IT applications used during elections. National-level Master Trainer Pulak Bhattacharya briefed the officials on the Model Code of Conduct and related provisions, emphasizing that non-residents of the area must leave once the election campaign concludes, and administrative approval is required for any public event during the code's enforcement.
