RAIPUR,CG,BHARAT: Chhattisgarh is experiencing a noticeable drop in temperatures due to ongoing snowfall in the hilly regions of Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh.
The cold wave has begun affecting the northern districts of Chhattisgarh, with temperatures dipping below 10°C. Experts suggest that if the northern winds intensify, a period of severe cold could begin in the state by the first week of December, potentially lasting throughout the month.
In Durg, a significant weather change is observed, with daytime temperatures reaching 30.4°C—above normal—and night temperatures falling to 5.8°C, a sharp drop from the usual 11.4°C. The weather forecast for Raipur on Wednesday predicts a clear sky, with maximum and minimum temperatures around 29°C and 14°C, respectively. Over the next two days, no major changes are expected in the minimum temperature across the state.
In South Chhattisgarh, temperatures may rise by 1-3°C, while in the Surguja division and surrounding areas, the minimum temperature could continue to fall until November 29 due to cold and dry northern winds, combined with moisture in the middle levels of the atmosphere. A slight rise in the minimum temperature is likely in the central region, with minor fluctuations expected. Bastar division and nearby districts may see an increase in minimum temperatures.
