RAIPUR,CG,BHARAT: The Raipur Municipal Corporation, in collaboration with GAIL India Limited and Haryana Gas Agency, is set to provide natural gas supply to Raipur city by 2025.
The initiative, undertaken under the directives of the Urban Administration and Development Department and Raipur District Administration, aims to connect households, vehicles, and industrial areas to the natural gas network.
According to GAIL India Limited officials, the supply will be facilitated through the Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda natural gas pipeline. The project includes laying distributor lines within Raipur to provide piped natural gas (PNG) connections to approximately 1 lakh households, along with compressed natural gas (CNG) stations for vehicles. Natural gas connections for industrial areas are also part of the plan.
Commissioner Avinash Mishra has instructed officials to prioritize the scheme's implementation to ensure its timely completion. The initiative is expected to significantly improve Raipur’s air quality and contribute to effective pollution control efforts in the capital city. Work on the project is progressing steadily, with a target completion date set for 2025.
