RAIPUR,INDIA: The Urban Administration and Development Department of Chhattisgarh has announced an increase in dearness relief for urban body pensioners and family pensioners. Pensioners under the seventh pay scale will see a 4% increase in dearness relief, while those under the sixth pay scale will benefit from a 9% hike.
The adjustment will take effect retroactively from October 1, 2024. Following the increase, pensioners under the seventh pay scale will receive 50% dearness relief, up from the current 46%, while those under the sixth pay scale will receive 239%, up from 230%.
The order, approved by Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Arun Sao, was issued on Friday by the Urban Administration Department. The move aims to provide additional financial support to pensioners and family pensioners amidst rising costs of living.
