CG: 54 school buses undergoes check

MAHASAMUND,INDIA: A joint team comprising the District Transport Officer, Traffic Police Mahasamund, and the Health Department inspected 54 school buses from Pithora, Basna, and Saraipali areas. The inspection identified common defects in six buses, resulting in the collection of a mitigation fee totaling ₹20,400.

One bus belonging to Shraddha Public School was found with multiple violations, including the absence of a valid permit, a dilapidated floor, and unpaid motor vehicle tax. The bus was seized and is currently parked at the Pithora police station.

During the inspection, the Health Department conducted checks on the bus drivers for blood sugar levels, blood pressure, and vision.

The team also emphasized safety protocols for school buses. Drivers and conductors were instructed to use the first aid kit, fire extinguisher, and emergency door immediately in case of an accident. Drivers were reminded to avoid consuming alcohol, never drive under the influence, and strictly adhere to traffic rules. Additionally, special attention was drawn to ensuring the safe boarding and deboarding of children.
