RAIPUR,INDIA: While sharing information regarding election preparations, Raipur District Collector and District Magistrate on Tuesday said that efforts will be made for 100 percent voting under the 'Jaago' programme.
He said that the code of conduct is in force in the entire Raipur district since January 20, except Birgaon adjacent to Raipur. The urban elections will be held in the state on 11th February 11th and three-tier Panchayat elections will be held in three phases on February 17th, 20th and 23rd.
There will be a total of 1,290 polling stations in urban bodies in Raipur district. There will be 1,095 polling stations in 70 wards of Raipur Municipal Corporation. Whereas there will be 1,378 polling stations for the three-tier Panchayat elections. Along with this, there will be 69 auxiliary polling stations in the urban body and 4 for the three-tier panchayat.
The urban body has been divided into 107 sectors and the three-tier panchayat has been divided into 97 sectors. Talking about the number of voters, a total of 10,36,079 voters will cast their votes in Raipur Municipal Corporation. There will be 11 returning officers in the municipal elections. At the same time, 5 returning and 74 assistant returning officers have been appointed in the Panchayat.
He further said that the list of polling stations will be published by January 27. The election symbol will be published by February 6th. After the candidate is declared, the sensitivity of the polling stations will be tested. A complaint cell was also formed for election related problems.
