NEW DELHI, INDIA: The NADD Foundation’s highly anticipated two-day classical music festival, Music for Harmony, was held at the Triveni Kala Sangam auditorium in New Delhi with great enthusiasm commencing on 19th March.
The festival was inaugurated by Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State for Law and Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India.
The inaugural evening saw captivating performances by young and very promising vocalist Diya Bhaumik who mesmerized the audience with her soulful vocal renditions. Her performances were followed by an enchanting Sarod recital by the esteemed Biswajit Roy Chowdhury, leaving the audience spellbound after which Sunil Kulkarni offered his tribute to the legends with his soulful vocal renditions.
The final day featured equally enthralling performances, with Iman Das and Vishvanath Dashrathe delivering mesmerizing vocal presentations. The evening concluded on a high note with a spellbinding Santoor recital by Abhay Rustum Sopari, earning immense appreciation from the attendees he was accompanied by maestro Durjay Bhaumik on the Tabla.
This year marked the 11th edition of Music for Harmony, an initiative by Pt. Durjay Bhaumik, founder of the NADD Foundation. Reflecting on the festival’s success, he stated, “We organize these concerts annually, taking them to various states with celebrated Indian musicians. We also provide a platform for talented artists from remote areas to connect with national and international audiences.”
Over the years, Music for Harmony has brought the magic of Indian classical music to cities like Indore, Shimla, Nainital, Haldwani, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Chapra, Jhansi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Vadodara. Continuing its mission to promote Indian classical music, the 2024–25 edition of the festival will further extend its reach to Guwahati, Shantiniketan, and Dhanbad.
