RAIPUR,CG,INDIA: During the ongoing Congress session in Gujarat, party president Mallikarjun Kharge made a statement that is expected to lead to changes within the party. In response, former Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, TS Singhdeo openly advocated for the implementation of a performance-based evaluation system.
Singhdeo emphasized that leaders who fail to contribute to the party's progress often do not voluntarily step down. He suggested that the party should adopt a transparent assessment system to hold passive leaders accountable. "I am 72 years old, but I still have the energy to work. Youth alone is not a guarantee of capability," he said, highlighting that even young leaders who fail to perform should not be given responsibilities. He stressed the importance of prioritizing the quality of work over age or seniority within the party.
Kharge's statement and Singhdeo's response indicate that the Congress leadership is focusing on improving functionality and ground-level performance. This push for accountability within the party could lead to significant changes in the near future.
