Pahalgam injured receives special medical care

RAIPUR, CG (INDIA): Chhattisgarh Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, asked the officials to ensure medical care to Pooja Aggarwal, a resident of Chirmiri in Manendragarh district and a survivor of the recent terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir. She received medical treatment and counseling at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital on Friday.

Ms Aggarwal, wife of Arvind Aggarwal, was injured in a terrorist firing incident on April 22 in the Basaron Valley of Pahalgam. While attempting to save her life during the attack, she sustained an injury to her shoulder. Upon the family’s arrival in Raipur, Health Minister Jaiswal personally inquired about her health and extended wishes for the family’s speedy recovery and well-being.

Following his directive, a detailed examination was conducted by orthopedist Dr. Pranay Srivastava in the hospital’s bone department. Dr. Srivastava confirmed a mild fracture in  right shoulder. Scans were performed on her shoulder and spine, and it was assessed that the injury may have resulted from lying on the ground during the attack to avoid gunfire.

Hospital Superintendent Dr. Santosh Sonkar stated that the patient has been prescribed the required medications and advised to follow up regularly. Additionally, due to the emotional trauma faced by the entire family, psychological counseling was also provided to help them cope with the distressing experience.

Health Minister Jaiswal wished Ms. Aggarwal a speedy recovery and assured that the state government stands in full solidarity with the affected family. He instructed hospital staff to ensure the best care is given and reiterated that the government will extend all possible support should the family require further medical assistance.
