RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday said it is the responsibility of the government and administration to provide basic facilities to every citizen. The officers need to ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the last mile.
He was holding a Kabirdham district level review meeting as part of his ‘Bhent-Mulaqat Abhiyan’ (direct public interaction) at Pandariya assembly constituency, an official communication said.
As the responsibility lies on the government and administration to provide the citizens basic facilities, officers need to work to ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the last person, he said.
Baghel said the department officials should resolve the public complaints at the earliest. Planned working is a better mode to make available basic facilities like education, health, water, roads, and electricity to all.
He appreciated officers-staff of Health Department of Kabirdham district for their work during the Covid-19 pandemic apart from operation of the training centre for running it round the clock.
Baghel underlined the need for wider publicity of government schemes so as to reach out to the targeted beneficiaries. The bad roads and construction of new roads should be undertaken in a planned manner.
He asked to take cognizance of the complaints related to illegal liquor and take stern action. The Superintendent of Police was asked for stern action on gambling and betting.
Baghel said a probe has been ordered after complaints of patwari seeking money from farmers for government work. The District Mineral Foundation fund to be used to improve the infrastructure facilities as per the demand of the locals.
On the complaint of power cuts in tribal areas, he asked the Electrical Engineer to fix it.
