CG News: Inter Set Cookery Competition 2022-23 at Rajkumar College

RAIPUR: Following the rich tradition, the Inter Set Cookery Competition of 2022-23 was held at Sarangarh Dining Hall, Rajkumar College, Raipur (C.G.) from 2pm to 6pm on 6th Nov 2022. The contestants from the 4 sets Aryans, Bikrams, Rajputs and Ranas showcased their culinary skills on the theme of this year “Authentic Delicacies of Marwar.

CG News: Inter Set Cookery Competition 2022-23 at Rajkumar CollegeAll the four sets competed for the Best Table Set with delicacies of Marwar completed the Razzmatazz of Rajasthan. The cynosure of the eye was the Cookery Trophy. Each of the sets had 3 teams of 4 cooks each with a leader. Aryans had 3 teams led by Liesha Ann Jacob (Team 1), Ananya Sharma (Team 2) and Tanisha Sharma (Team 3). Bikrams had 3 teams led by Jiya Jain (Team 1), Suman Jain (Team 2) and Arnav Jain (Team 3). Rajputs had 3 teams led by Kaushiki Pal (Team 1), Kanak Nandini Singh (Team 2) and Pavitra Nathani (Team 3). Ranas had 3 teams led by Archie Agrawal (Team 1), Bhumika Navlani (Team 2) and Megha Agrawal (Team 3). These 12 teams competed for the Best Table in the Inter Set Cookery Competition 2022-23 and the Trophy was adjudged on the score of the combined points of the three teams of the winning set.

Although a non-competitive section, 3 students each of the set 4 sets did their job of decorating the table very well with the Marwar, Rajasthan theme commendably. Aryans set’s decorators were Vidhi Ahuja and Namrata Mourya led by Divyaraj Shukla. Bikrams set’s decorators were Yukta Keswani and Aashi Agrawal and Akash Agrawal was leading them. Similarly, Lorita Ahsan and Aakriti Jain of Rajputs decorated their table under the leadership of Nandita Paikra. Ranas set comprising the decorators Kirat Kaur and Tanmay Daga were led by Saniya Khan decorated their respective tables to complete the decorations of the 4 sets for the competition.

The judges of the Competition were Shivendra Nath Shah Deo, Vice Principal, Mrs Chitwan Singh, Headmistress, Mrs Seema F. Siddiqui, Asst Headmistress and Mrs Sunita Bora, Asst Headmistress at the end of the competition, Col. Avinash Singh, Principal, Rajkumar College, praised the culinary skills of the students and remarked that the best way to reach the heart of a man is through his stomach.

Megha Agrawal with her team of 3 others cooks namely Abhishek Agrawal, Sunishka Agrawal and Ananya Bhartiya of Ranas set on the table number 6 was adjudged as best table.

The overall position of the Inter Set Cookery Competition- 2022 was as follows:

1. 1st Ranas (703 points) 2. 2nd Aryans (683 points) 3. 3rd Bikrams (641 points) 4. 4th Rajputs (621 points)

The Late Rani Sahiba Soudamini Devi of Khandpara Memorial Inter Set Cookery Trophy for the year 2022-23, presented by Raja Bibhuti Bhushan Singh Mardraj of Khandpara went to the Ranas.
