Chhattisgarh cabinet approves draft Reservation Amendment Bill 2022

RAIPUR: The Chhattisgarh cabinet on Thursday approved the draft proposal for ‘Reservation Amendment Bill 2022’ for Chhattisgarh Public Service (CGPSC) and admission in state education institutions for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel chaired the cabinet meeting at his official residence, here.

As per earlier declaration, the cabinet gave nod to the proposal to amend the new fisheries policy.

The Chhattisgarh Appropriation Bill 2022 was approved for the presentation as second supplementary estimate year 2022-23 in the Legislative Assembly. Assembly will be in session for two days on December 1 and 2.

Chhattisgarh District Mineral Trust Rules – 2015 will be amended to waive off the limitation on the expenditure on infrastructure works under District Mineral Institute Trust to a certain percentage of the amount. If the amendment is incorporated, the provision of spending 20 percent on other priority items in the general area and 40 percent in the notified area will be abolished.

The cabinet ratified the proposal to procure the products manufactured by the forest produce based industries. It needs to be established under the tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) executed between the State Government, Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce (Trading and Development) Co-operative Federation and private investors. It would be sold under the Chhattisgarh herbal brand at a discount of 40 percent and through Sanjeevani and other means.

Cabinet accepted the proposal to extend the fixed period for withdrawing cases of ordinary nature pending in various courts of the state in public interest, from December 31, 2017 to December 31, 2018.

The Chief Minister's proposal to increase the voluntary grant amount from Rs 70 crore to Rs 110 crore was approved.

Approval was given to the Revenue and Disaster Management Department to make amendments in the Revenue Book Circular Section 6 No. 4, as per the amendments made by the Government of India.
