RAIPUR: Health and Family Welfare department, Government of Chhattisgarh will run the seventh phase of malaria-free Chhattisgarh campaign from December 1.
The intensive campaign will be organised in Dantewada, Sukma, Narayanpur and Bijapur. The health workers will conduct door-to-door to check malaria, and will start immediate treatment of victims, an official communication said.
With success achieved in the last six phases of malaria-free Chhattisgarh campaign, the annual parasite index (API rate) which was 2.63 in 2018, has come down to 0.92, said Dr Subhash Mishra, Director, Director (Epidemic Control).
He said under the campaign, along with the investigation and treatment of malaria, public awareness activities will also be conducted. People would be urged to use mosquito nets daily. They would be urged to maintain cleanliness around the house and prevent growth of mosquitoes.
Mishra appealed that people should check for the symptoms like high fever, body pain, headache, vomiting, chills, dizziness, rashes appearing on the body, and bleeding from the nose. If these symptoms are observed, should take immediate medical help.
