RAIPUR: The Government of Chhattisgarh has established the Rural Industrial Party (RIPA) to provide employment to entrepreneurs at the local level. It will strengthen the rural economy.
Joint Secretary and Nodal Officer Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh reviewed the activities conducted in the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park, an ambitious scheme of the government, in Temri village of the Dharsiwa development block. He asked all the concerned officers and employees to conduct all the required activities at Temri RIPA effectively.
The work of the manufacture of herbal gulal, rangoli, flavoured juice, millet cafe are being undertaken in Temri's RIPA, where 50 women are employed. A contract has been signed with Ganesha Herbal Gulal for marketing the goods produced in RIPA.
The scheme was launched with the intention to provide women with better employment opportunities. With the Rural Industrial Park operating in the village itself, women are now receiving employment at the local level near their homes, an official communication said.
They are given proper training to operate the machines. As a result, women are producing more than 100 types of goods, including paint, bricks, and dona-pattal in the state.
