RAIPUR: Creativity is the key to unleash the true potential of education. To harness the power of creativity in education, we must foster an environment that encourages experimentation and risk-taking, said Chhattisgarh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan.

He was addressing the International Literature Festival “Unmesh” organized by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India and Sahitya Akademi at Rabindra Bhawan Bhopal on Friday.

He said teachers should be empowered to teach through creative teaching methods.

He said creativity promotes deeper understanding of academic subjects. When students are encouraged to think creatively, they are not limited to rote learning, rather they explore different approaches and experiment with different solutions.

It enhances their critical thinking skills and enables them to understand complex concepts more easily. Furthermore, creativity breeds curiosity. It forces students to question the world around them and seek answers beyond the confines of textbooks, he said.

The Governor further said that when students are encouraged to think out of the box, they learn to accept failures as a stepping stone to success. They understand that mistakes are not something to be feared but valuable lessons that can be used to refine their thoughts and approaches. This resilience is an essential life skill that goes beyond the classroom and prepares them to face challenges in their personal and professional lives.

He said empathy builds a strong foundation for a more compassionate society. The Governor appealed to teachers, parents and society to work together to promote creativity in education and see its transformative impact on the lives of our children and the world they shape.
