Chhattisgarh sanctions 400 new vehicles for Dial 100/112 service

RAIPUR: The Chhattisgarh government on Friday approved Rs 33 crores for procurement of 400 new vehicles for the police emergency response service Dial 100/112, which aids in providing assistance in emergency situations.

It will be distributed across all 33 districts of the state.

Chhattisgarh has introduced the scheme of Dial 100/112 service in 11 districts of states in 2018. Around 252 vehicles were procured. Most of the vehicles are now around six years old. The need for new vehicles arose for effective management of the system and to deploy the new vehicles in all districts.

The purchase of vehicles will be conducted through the online order issuance in the Government e-Marketplace (GEM) system, based on the availability and rates of vehicles listed on the website, an official communication said.
