Raipur (C.G.): Justice Narendra Kumar Vyas said, it should be the primary duty of the judges to connect the people to the justice system by simplifying it in following the Constitution.
He was addressing the Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas) event held at the Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy (CGSJA) in Bilaspur on Sunday as chief guest.
High Court of Chhattisgarh Chief Justice, and Patron-in-Chief of the Academy Ramesh Sinha was in Delhi on the constitution day celebration.
The Chief Justice sent his message to the judges of Chhattisgarh. Judge of the High Court Justice Rakesh Mohan Pandey was present as special invitee.
As an important part of the celebration the Preamble of the Indian Constitution was read.
All the District Judges of the State, officials of the High Court Registry and judges posted in Bilaspur district also participated in the event.
Justice Vyas further said that many rights have been provided to the citizens in the Constitution. It is the responsibility of the judiciary to ensure that every person gets complete justice by maintaining a transparent justice system.
He highlighted the basic differences of Indian constitution than that of other countries with examples indicating the prerequisites of the constitution such as societal, familial and individual needs. The preamble of Indian Constitution to be a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic which is aiming to secure justice, liberty, equality to all citizens and promote fraternity to maintain unity and integrity of the nation were stressed in his speech as these rights are a necessity and are not a privilege.
The importance of the Indian Constitution was highlighted by Justice Rakesh Kumar Pandey. He said that the Indian the Constitution protects the fundamental rights of every citizen while protecting the interests of the citizens.
He underlined the importance of Constitution Day, the significance of its celebration and commemorated the people who contributed to the development of the Indian constitution.
A colloquium of all the district Judges of the State was also organized by the Academy. The object of this colloquium was to discuss the challenges before the District Judiciary and way forward.
