Raipur, CG: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday said the Kurmi community of the state is identified as a patriotic and hard-working society. The great men of society also played their part in the freedom movement.
Sai expressed his gratitude to the general public for trusting the guarantee of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that we will fulfill every promise made to the general public in five years.
He was addressing the sixth annual convention of Chhattisgarh Manwa Kurmi Kshatriya Samaj Balodabazar Raj organized at Semhradih in Balodabazar district.
Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais was the chief guest of the programme. Chhattisgarh Sports and Youth Welfare and Revenue Disaster Management Minister Tank Ram Verma and Vyas Kashyap were also present.
Bais and Sai paid tribute to the great personalities of the society by garlanding their oil paintings and lighting lamps. Sai announced the approval of a sub-health centre in Semhradih on the demand of citizens. He also pledged approval of financial assistance of Rs 25,000 for the education of Deepak Verma, a financially weak student. He released booklets titled “Parinay Pushp” and “Arpa Chhattisgarh”. Two ideal marriages took place and the guests gave blessings to the newly married couples for a happy life.
He highlighted steps undertaken by the state government after it took charge.
Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais underlined that women's education is important for the development of the society. Earlier, women were limited to household work, only men were involved in social activities, but under the constitutional provision, they are also getting the benefit of reservation and women are discharging their responsibilities even in important places.
