Raipur, Chhattisgarh: Government of Chhattisgarh under the Kharif marketing year 2023-24, the paddy procurement is continuing from November 1, 2023.
The state government has purchased 142.23 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from farmers at support price. In lieu of paddy procurement, an amount of more than Rs 29,318 crore has been paid to the farmers through the bank.
The Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday had announced that, government will now purchase paddy at support price in the state till February 4. Paddy will be purchased on Saturday and Sunday also. This year, as per Modi's guarantee, the state government is purchasing paddy from farmers at the rate of 21 quintals per acre.
The General Manager of Markfed stated that till now 142, 23,702 metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from 24.51 lakh in the state till January 31 at support price. Along with paddy procurement, continuous lifting of paddy is going on for custom milling. Till now, DO has been issued for lifting of 102.74 metric tons of paddy, against which 93.44 metric tons of paddy has been lifted by the millers.
