Raipur, Chhattisgarh: Chhattisgarh Tribal, Scheduled Caste, Backward Class, and Minority Welfare Minister Ramvichar Netam on Thursday said financial management is necessary to accelerate development. Work should be done on priority for the development of weaker sections.
He was holding a review of the departmental work with officials at the National Tribal Research Institute, Naya Raipur.
He said, needy children stay in the Ashram hostel. There should be sensitivity and humanity towards children. A better environment should be created in the Ashram hostel.
He asked officials to complete the works for the financial year 2023-24 soon. He said that the officials should monitor the construction works regularly and should not leave it to the contractors. “If any irregularities occur, they will not be spared. I will inspect from time to time, officers should be ready for this” he added.
Minister said that all the ashram hostels of the state should be ranked and work towards improving them. Fix the responsibility by appointing an officer in-charge for the maintenance of the ashram hostels.
In Scheduled Tribe and Tribe dominated ashram hostels, where seats for Scheduled Tribes are vacant, seats can be allotted to Scheduled Caste students and visa-versa. Under no circumstances should an available seat remain vacant.
The minister said that special attention should be paid to girls' ashram hostels and every activity should be monitored. There should not be any such act that the government has to stand in the dock.
The Minister asked for expediting the construction work by ensuring quality and within time-frame.
He reviewed the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana. The five special tribal groups, Pahari Korwa, Kamar Birhor, Baiga and Abujhmadia tribal settlements protected by the Central Government, should be ensured, 100 percent eligible families be provided Aadhaar Card, Ayushman Card, Jan Dhan Account, Caste Certificate as per the target set.
Department Secretary cum Commissioner Narendra Dugga along with senior officers and Assistant Commissioners of all the districts were present in the meeting.
