Raipur, Chhattisgarh: Chhattisgarh Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA) has sanctioned solar power plans for 83 PM Shri schools.
Under the ‘PM Shri School’ scheme, off-grid solar power plants of various capacities are being established to ensure regular lighting in such un-electrified school buildings of the state, which will help in increasing school hours, operation of modern education related equipment.
The schools are being provided facilities of modern education like smart classes, computers and projectors with the help of solar power plants. Awareness is being created among the students for energy conservation and promotion of green energy.
So far, CREDA has established off-grid solar power plants of 1,504 kilowatt capacity in 1,152 schools in the state. Also, the work of solar electrification is in progress in 39 schools under Samagra Shiksha.
