There is no substitute for hard work: Governor

Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India: Chhattisgarh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan said there is no substitute for hard work and devotion. The results are due to the hard work. 

Governor was addressing as chief guest ‘At Home’ programme of NCC Directorate of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh was organised at Raj Bhavan on Thursday. 

NCC cadets of Chhattisgarh, having participated in the Republic Day parade in New Delhi attended it.

He said, “You worked hard and got results. I appreciate those army officers, soldiers and part-time officers of NCC, who through hard work and dedication paved the way for the cadets. I am confident that in the coming years also you will continue to work hard and bring glory to the state and the country.”

Secretary to Governor Yashwant Kumar, Brigadier Vikram Singh Chauhan VSM, Wing Commander Vivek Kumar, Colonel Pradeep and family members of NCC cadets were present. 

He said it is a matter of pride that the Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh Directorate achieved overall sixth position this year, which is an improvement of five places compared to last year, he added. 

“Participation of women in NCC is a matter of good fortune for us. Many girls battalions have been operated by NCC in the state. For this, training institutes and family members should encourage girls to participate in NCC. Apart from military training and camps, NCC organizes public awareness rallies under social reform programs on the topics of Girl Child Protection, sickle cell disease, Tree Plantation, Adult Education, Voluntary Blood Donation, Organ Donation, Traffic Control cleanliness campaigns, major diseases like leprosy, cancer and HIV AIDS, etc,” he said. 

Brigadier Vikram Singh Chauhan, VSM, briefed on the activities of the NCC Directorate of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. 

A cultural programme was presented by the NCC cadets.  Governor Harichandan was presented with the Aero model of Mirage 2000, the model of INS Shivalik of the Indian Navy and the logo depicting the motto of the NCC. The Governor honoured the NCCcadets for performing cultural programmes.
