Blood test using artificial intelligence

RAIPUR,CG: A demonstration of a blood and urine testing machine using Artificial Intelligence was held in the Pathology Department of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial Medical College, Raipur.

AI-based computational pathology has recently raised hopes of increasing both the accuracy and availability of high-quality health care and diagnostic tests for patients in many medical fields.

The machine automates microscopic images of blood and urine samples through Artificial Intelligence (AI) and reports are prepared after the analysis.

The machine can help in preliminary investigation and diagnosis in inaccessible and remote areas. In the pathology departments of medical colleges, where the number of samples is high, more tests will be possible in less time. It will also be helpful in research work, said Professor and Head of the Department of Pathology Dr. Arvind Neral.

Dr Neral said that with the modern system of disease diagnosis, all the diseases related to the three components of blood, red blood, white blood cells and platelets can be identified.

Professor Rabia Parveen Siddiqui said that it will make it easier to identify different types of cells found in various blood related cancers, leukaemia. It will enable the images to be kept safe.

The machine automatically collects high magnification microscopic images of relevant sections of the slide and uploads them to the cloud platform. After analysing these images, the results are given to the pathologist on the web browser, who can get the report from anywhere at any time.

Pathologists re-examine the report generated by AI and then authenticate it. During the demonstration of the functioning of this machine, she added

Senior medical teachers Dr. Chandrakala Joshi, Dr. Varsha Pandey, Dr. Amit Bhardwaj and others were present.
