Pussore,CG: Akhilesh Singh, Head of Project (NTPC Lara) & Sangeeta Singh, President, Prerita Mahila Samiti inaugurated the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) programme at Lara on 17th May 2024. Addressing the gathering Singh said, GEM programme is a very good CSR initiative of NTPC Limited, designed for holistic development of girl child of nearby villages of NTPC Power Stations. It is a very good residential programme for better utilization of summer vacation. With refreshment of the regular course curriculum, other extracurricular activities like yoga, sports and games, art, dance, acting, self-defence, and computer are taught to the children. At Lara 40 girls have enrolled for this four week long residential personality development training programme.
It is to mention that the Girl Empowerment Mission is a CSR initiative of NTPC Limited is being organised at 42 locations. In these 42 locations 2600 girls have been enrolled to participate in this training programme.
On this occasion Rajeev Ranjan, General Manager (Operation & Maintenance), Ravi Shankar, General Manager (Project Construction), Jakir Khan, AGM (HR), Head of Departments, office bearer of Prerita Mahila Samiti, girls with their parents were present in large numbers.
