RAIPUR,CG: Under the Right to Free and Compulsory Child Education Act-2009 (RTE), the process of online lottery for admission in private schools for the academic year 2024-25 began with selection of 16,036 students on Monday.
The Director General of Public Instruction stated that 1,22,270 applications were received for admission against the total reserved 52,872 seats in the primary class of 6,554 private schools of the state. Today 16, 036 students have been selected in the first phase for admission in private schools.
In the first phase, the lottery of Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur, Rajnandgaon, Kawardha, Jashpur and Jagdalpur districts was conducted by the Director General of Public Instruction in front of private school organizations, parents and various media. These include 4,655 against 5,126 reserved seats in Raipur, 3,462 against 4,293 seats in Durg, 3,609 against 4,558 seats in Bilaspur, 1,471 against 1,703 seats in Rajnandgaon, in Kawardha 1,242 students were selected against 1,351 seats, in Jashpur, 895 students were selected against 1,252 seats and in Jagdalpur, 702 students were selected against 761 seats.
Selected students will be informed through SMS on their mobile number. These students will have to take admission in the selected schools between June 1 and June 30. The online lottery process for selecting students is a completely computerized and human intervention-free process.
The process of inviting applications again from the applicants will be done for the remaining seats. It is scheduled from July 1 to July 8. The second phase lottery process will be done between July 17 and July 20.
