RAIPUR,CG: Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Arun Sao asked to prepare a city development plan for the systematic and planned development of all urban bodies.

He was holding a review meeting of the departmental work.

Reviewing the progress of various departmental schemes, he asked to speed up the work. In view of the upcoming rainy season, he asked to ensure cleaning of drains in all urban bodies before the rains. An action plan be prepared for accessible public transport for commuting from district headquarters to divisional headquarters.

He asked for tightening the functioning of urban bodies. Take strict action by fixing the responsibility of the officers who were lax and negligent in their work.

He said that the results of the work of the department should be visible in the field. The urban bodies should be serious and active in providing maximum facilities to the citizens. Due to the model code of conduct implemented for the Lok Sabha general elections, the lethargy and slowness in the work should be immediately ended. The work should be expedited where the work has been kept pending or has not started.

He asked the departmental officers to approve the works of development and public facilities in all the bodies as per the development plan.

He reviewed the progress of various schemes of Affordable Housing along with Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in urban areas, and the physical and financial progress of the schemes of the Urban Administration Department.

He asked to complete the work of delimitation of wards for general elections in urban bodies by July 18 so that the work of reservation process and preparation of voter list can be started on time.
