CG NEWS: First ‘Jandarshan’: CM meets people for five hours

* Over 1,500 applications at Sai’s Jandarshan

RAIPUR,CG: Around 1,500 applications were received on the first ‘Jandarshan’ of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai organised after his taking charge as Chief Minister on Thursday.

The aim is to implement the commitment to providing the citizens with transparent, sensitive, and effective administration. The event is aimed at addressing the grievances of the state’s residents.

The Chief Minister individually met with thousands of people from remote areas of the state. He listened empathetically to their problems and expectations, and asked departmental officials to promptly resolve the complaints and applications received.

The scheduled time for the interaction was from 11 AM to 1 PM, due to the overwhelming presence of the public, the Chief Minister extended the duration. He assured the attendees that he would meet each of them and listen to their issues and expectations. It event continued till 4.00 pm.

Chief Minister asked officials to provide adequate treatment and support to those suffering from various illnesses, and personally attended to the needs of differently-abled individuals by distributing necessary equipment like hearing aids and tricycles. He asked officials to make necessary arrangements for youths aspiring for higher education and competitive exams.

Over 1,500 individuals submitted their applications, which mainly pertained to revenue, urban local bodies, health, education, construction work, and discretionary grants. All the applications received were registered, and tokens were provided to the applicants.

Sai handed over hearing aids, tricycles, certificates, and other necessary assistance were provided on the spot to differently-abled individuals. Immediate arrangements were also made for the treatment of those suffering from severe illnesses. He approved Rs 1.5 lakh for brain surgery for Amit Soni of Dhamtari and sanctioned INR 50,000 for the treatment of Varsha Chandwani.
