RAIPUR,CG: Chhattisgarh’s Secretary of School Education Department Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi on Tuesday asked all the District Collectors to conduct an expert committee review of the justification, requirement, completion, and status of the under-construction works approved under School Jatan Yojana. They should provide the information to the Directorate of Public Instruction within 15 days in the prescribed format.
The Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai after the incidents of plaster of roof falling in different schools, had asked for inspection of the works approved under School Jatan Yojana, such as the renovation of repairable schools and the construction of additional rooms for the year 2022-23.
Secretary in a letter dispatched to the Collectors stated that the department had previously released the funds for the works approved under the scheme. The government has received complaints regarding the quality of construction works.
He asked the Collectors to inspect the current status of the ongoing works and to take strict action against those found involved in any discrepancies.
He also called for submission of reports in the prescribed format, detailing the name of the school, approved work, sanctioned amount, physical status of the work, cost, justification and requirement, and quality.
