RAIPUR,CG: Chairman of the 16th Central Finance Commission, Dr. Arvind Panagariya reached Swami Vivekananda Airport Raipur on Wednesday on his four-day stay in Chhattisgarh.
Commission member Ajay Narayan Jha, Annie George Mathew, Dr. Manoj Panda, Dr. Soumyakanti Ghosh, Secretary Ritvik Pandey, Joint Secretary Kamal Kumar Mishra, Joint Director Raghavendra Singh and other members of the team had also arrived.
Finance Department Secretary Mukesh Bansal, NRDA CEO Saurabh Kumar, State Election Commission Secretary Dr. Sarveshwar Bhure, MD CGMSC Padmini Bhoi, Raipur Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh received the team at Swami Vivekananda Airport, Raipur.
The scheduled programme of the Central Finance Commission states that the Chairman and members will meet and discuss with Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai on July 11, at 10 am in his ministry room.
The Finance Commission meeting will be held at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan at 10.25 am. The Chief Minister will address the meeting and various issues including the financial needs of the state will be discussed. There will also be a presentation of the state’s financial position.
On July 11 itself, there will be a discussion with the Finance Commission, representatives of Panchayat Raj institutions, urban institutions and political parties from 2.30 pm to 5 pm at Hotel Mayfair.
The Central Finance Commission will hold a discussion with representatives of industry and commerce organizations on July 12 at Hotel Mayfair from 9.15 am to 10 am.
The team will tour Naya Raipur from 10 am to 12 noon. After visiting Naya Raipur, the Finance Commission representatives will leave for Jagdalpur and after a night's rest, they will hold a meeting with Panchayat representatives at Jagdalpur Circuit House the next day on July 13th.
