Focus on personal development: Dr Gaurav

RAIPUR,CG: Dr. Gaurav Singh, Raipur District Collector of Chhattisgarh shared the fundamental principles of success with the students, emphasizing the importance of hard work and goal-setting alongside their studies. He urged students to focus on their personal development, noting that success not only enhances the reputation of their parents but also brings pride to their village and family.

In a bid to inspire and guide school students, Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh has initiated a motivational address and dialogue under the ‘Udaan’ program at Pandit R.D. Tiwari English Medium School of Excellence in Amapara.

Drawing from his own experiences, Dr. Singh shared that despite never standing first in his classes, he consistently ranked second. He studied at a Government Engineering College, pursued a Master's degree from IIT, and eventually cleared the UPSC exam to become an IAS officer. His success brought immense pride to his village, reinforcing the idea that determination and hard work lead to positive outcomes.

Dr. Singh encouraged students to approach their studies with curiosity and enthusiasm, treating education not as a burden but as an engaging activity similar to a game. He emphasized that challenging times are part of life, but perseverance and hard work ultimately lead to success.

Addressing parents, Dr. Singh urged them not to pressure their children into achieving top grades, reminding them that every student has unique talents. He stressed that success is not solely defined by securing the first position in class, but by consistent effort and determination.

He also shared insights into the UPSC interview process, highlighting that candidates are often asked simple questions that gauge their personality and basic knowledge. He advised students to develop the habit of reading newspapers to stay informed about national and international affairs. Additionally, he mentioned the availability of online coaching for NEET and JEE preparation, encouraging students to take advantage of these resources to improve their future prospects.

Municipal Corporation Commissioner Abinash Mishra advised students from classes 6th to 12th to focus on hard work during these formative years, as this period provides a solid foundation for further studies. District Panchayat CEO Vishwadeep stressed the importance of being aware of the syllabus and studying with concentration, drawing on insights from experienced individuals.

Dr. Singh also took the time to answer questions from the students, providing further guidance and inspiration.
