RAIPUR,CG: Chhattisgarh’s Korba district administration granted funds from the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) for construction of 60 new school buildings and Primary Health Centres.
The official sources said that District Collector Ajit Vasant has approved the construction of new school buildings by identifying dilapidated structures in remote rural areas of the district.
Administrative approval has been granted for the construction of over 60 new school buildings, additional classrooms, and renovation works from the DMF. Additionally, boundary walls for 10 primary health centres have been approved to enhance security based on the needs of the centres.
Earlier in February, approval had already been granted for 88 new school buildings. The construction of new buildings to replace the dilapidated ones in remote areas will alleviate the difficulties faced by students and teachers alike. The approvals mainly include new primary school buildings (with the demolition of old structures). In some locations, buildings for secondary schools, additional classrooms, laboratory rooms, and renovation works have also been approved.
One such school is the primary school in the remote village of Baigapara-Ghinara, under the Kartala development block. The primary school, which operates in a 38-year-old building with a sheet-covered roof, has 57 students across two classrooms. The school’s teacher, Shashikala Rathia, expressed that a new school building was urgently needed.
The Collector has taken steps to further improve healthcare facilities in remote areas of the district by approving the construction of boundary walls and residential quarters at 23 primary health centres from the DMF. The construction of residential quarters within the primary health centre premises will enable doctors and other staff to stay comfortably, while the boundary walls will ensure a sense of security for both patients and medical staff within the health centres.
