RAIPUR,CG,INDIA: IEEE Kalinga University Student Branch hosted a "Oneweek Hands on Training on ROBOTICS, "from 16th September 2024 to 20thSeptember 2024 at University premises for students of different departments. IEEE KU SB always aims to encourage teaching learning through practical exposure. Dr Vijayalaxmi Biradar, Director IQAC of Kalinga University &Chairperson of IEEE WIEAG MP was the resource person for the one week training program. Dr. Vijayalaxmi Biradar, has congratulated the participants for showing their interest for the training program. 

For engineering students, learning robotics technology is crucial as it integrates multiple engineering disciplines—mechanical, electrical, and software—into a cohesive field that drives innovation in industries like automation, healthcare, aerospace, and manufacturing. Robotics enhances problem-solving skills by enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges, fostering practical expertise in design, control systems, and AI integration. With the increasing demand for automation and intelligent systems, robotics offers significant career opportunities and equips students to lead interdisciplinary projects, conduct cutting-edge research, and develop new technologies or startups.

A total of 66 students participated in the Hands-on Training on Robotics and 11 groups were created. On the first and second day of the training program, Dr. Vijayalaxmi explained about various components of Robots like Arduino UNO, motor drivers, sensors, actuators etc. The resource person also gave an overview on how to program the robot and upload it to the microcontroller using Arduino IDE. During the remaining days, the resource personguided the participants to build connections with different sensors, actuators, microcontroller, motor driver and battery with the help of jumper wires. As a result, participants were able to build different robots like IR controlled Robot, Bluetooth controlled robot, obstacle avoidance robot etc. Students gained experience in controlling and handling these robots by their own and also troubleshot the problem occurred during the training program. On the final day, an assessment test was conducted, that followed by certificate distribution.“Training was very helpful, engaging and learning experience for us”, commented by a participant during closing ceremony.
