HC gives relief to SI candidates

BILASPUR,CG,BHARAT: In a major development for candidates awaiting the Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment results in Chhattisgarh, the High Court has directed the state government to release the pending results for 975 posts within 15 days.

The single bench of Justice NK Vyas issued clear instructions to the state government to declare the result of the SI Recruitment Examination-2018, which has been delayed for over six years.

Frustrated by the long wait, candidates had been protesting for months. Recently, they staged a demonstration outside the residence of Home Minister Vijay Sharma in Raipur, demanding the release of the results. The candidates, many of whom are facing financial and mental strain due to the prolonged delay, had issued a strong ultimatum, saying the government should either release the results or allow them to end their suffering.

The SI recruitment exam was held in 2018, but the results have yet to be declared, causing immense frustration among the candidates. Several protests, including a candle march in the state capital, highlighted their grievances, with candidates threatening a large-scale agitation if the results were not announced soon.

Following their protest outside the Home Minister’s residence, security was increased in the Civil Lines area of Raipur. With the High Court’s latest directive, candidates are hopeful that their long wait will finally come to an end.
