JAGDALPUR,CG,BHARAT: In a significant move to recognize and support the tribal communities of Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai honored the Baiga, Gunia, and Sirha communities in a ceremony held at the Circuit House on Monday. Shawls and coconuts were presented as symbols of respect to these communities, recognized as the protectors of tribal tradition.
Acknowledging their cultural contributions, the Chief Minister pledged an annual honorarium of ₹5,000 for members of these traditional tribal groups. The initiative aims to preserve tribal heritage while also promoting the economic empowerment of these communities.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Sai emphasized the government’s commitment to safeguarding and advancing the cultural legacy of tribal societies. He expressed confidence that such measures would not only bolster tribal pride but also foster self-reliance in tribal areas.
“The preservation of tribal traditions is integral to the state’s identity. By including these communities in the broader development narrative, we are strengthening the fabric of Chhattisgarh,” the Chief Minister stated.
Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Jagdalpur MLA Kiran Deo, former MLA Mahesh Gagda, and other local representatives, underscoring the government’s dedication to tribal welfare.
