BIJAPUR,CG,BHARAT: In a significant success against Naxalite activities, security forces in Bijapur have thwarted a major attempt to harm soldiers by neutralizing a 5 kg Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
According to police reports, a joint team of the 168th and 229th battalions of the CRPF was conducting an area domination operation between Mokur and Peddagelur. During demining efforts near a small drain under the Mokur Patelpara hill, the CRPF's Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) from the 168th battalion detected the IED, which had been planted on an unpaved path by Naxalites using a command switch system.
The CRPF Dog Squad, along with the BDS team, played a crucial role in identifying and safely neutralizing the explosive. The timely action prevented a potential disaster and successfully foiled the Naxalites' plan to target security personnel.
