RAIPUR,CG,BHARAT: The final National Lok Adalat of the year, as per the annual calendar of the National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, will be held nationwide on Saturday, December 14.
In Chhattisgarh, the event will take place at the District Court in Raipur as well as in Gariaband, Devbhog, Tilda, Rajim, and the New Tehsil Arang.
The Lok Adalat aims to resolve various types of cases, including those related to traffic violations, check bounces, excise laws, civil disputes, family court matters, municipal corporation issues, water and land taxes, labour laws, and minor criminal cases, among others. The resolutions are achieved through mutual compromises facilitated by the court.
To ensure the success of the event, B.P. Verma, Principal District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Raipur, chaired a preparatory meeting with judges. He asked for the identification of as many cases as possible for resolution and emphasized achieving settlements through pre-sittings.
Highlighting the purpose of National Lok Adalat, Verma stated that it is designed to provide simple, affordable, and accessible justice to the public. He urged extensive public awareness campaigns, including announcements in public spaces such as markets, railway stations, and bus stands, as well as in rural areas. The campaign also includes traffic speaker announcements at major intersections and railway stations.
A special effort will be made to bring the benefits of National Lok Adalat directly to people’s homes through mobile vans. Additionally, a help desk will be established at Lok Adalat venues to assist parties and advocates. The help desk will provide guidance and facilitate access to Lok Adalat benefits through the District Legal Services Authority.
