Celebrations across state: Birth Anniversary ‘Guru Ghasidas’ message of equality remains relevant’

RAIPUR,CG,BHARAT: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday highlighted the enduring importance of Baba Guru Ghasidas’ teachings of equality and harmony during the Guru Ghasidas Jayanti celebrations in Korba.

The event, organized by the Satnami Kalyan Samiti, included the inauguration of a ₹90 lakh community building and the announcement of concessional land for the Satnami community.

Speaking at the event, CM Sai described Baba Guru Ghasidas as a great saint whose message continues to inspire unity among people. He emphasized the government's commitment to fulfilling promises, such as purchasing paddy at ₹3,100 per quintal, providing ₹1,000 monthly assistance to 70 lakh women, and addressing irregularities in the Public Service Commission (PSC).

The Chief Minister urged the Satnami community to prioritize education and enterprise, encouraging them to leverage government schemes. He also emphasized the state's initiatives under the new education and industry policies aimed at uplifting marginalized groups, including Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

“Our government, guided by the principles of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas,' is committed to building a prosperous Chhattisgarh with the support of all communities,” Sai said.

The event featured the hoisting of the Jaitkham flag, Aarti, and worship ceremonies. The Satnami community honoured the Chief Minister with a silver crown, garland, and an oil painting of Baba Guru Ghasidas.

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao and Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu also addressed the gathering, encouraging the community to adopt Baba Guru Ghasidas’ teachings and work towards progress in education and industry. Industries Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan announced that funds had been allocated for constructing a grand dome in the area.

The Chief Minister also released “Maa Ki Chahat”, a book by author Salik Nirmal Diwakar, during the event.

The gathering praised the government’s ongoing efforts to develop Baba Guru Ghasidas’ Tapobhoomi and other related sites, initiated during the tenure of former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh.

The Guru Ghasidas Jayanti celebrations concluded with a renewed call for unity and progress, underscoring the cultural and spiritual legacy of Baba Guru Ghasidas.

He also participated in the Munegli event, pledged opening of a college, Primary Health Centre and Rs 5 lakh for fair.
