Medicity to be developed on 200 Acres in Sector 37, Nava Raipur

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has unveiled plans to establish a world-class Medicity in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, advancing the state's healthcare infrastructure. A 200-acre site in Sector 37 has been earmarked for the project, aiming to provide state-of-the-art health facilities under one roof.

The proposed Medicity will feature 5,000-bed capacity, supported by private investment, and will integrate with the Pradhan Mantri Medicity Scheme. Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Vikas Pradhikaran, under  Finance Minister OP Chaudhary, is spearheading the initiative to position Nava Raipur as a global hub for healthcare services.

A preliminary coordination meeting with Infratech Services Limited, a Central Government enterprise, has been held to strategize the project’s execution. The Medicity will include multispecialty hospitals, medical colleges, diagnostic centers, hostels, dharamshalas, hotels, and commercial complexes.

Efforts are also underway to facilitate international flights from Swami Vivekananda Airport, boosting medical tourism and enhancing Chhattisgarh's global identity in healthcare. The Medicity will cater not only to Chhattisgarh’s residents but also to neighboring states, marking a significant milestone in the region’s healthcare development.
