CM unveils poster for National Tribal Sports event

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai unveiled the poster for the upcoming 24th National Forest Resident Sports Competition, set to take place in Raipur from December 27 to 31, 2024. The event is being organized by the All India Forest Welfare Ashram to promote sports culture and uplift forest-dwelling communities.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony at his residence, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of the competition in nurturing tribal talent and fostering unity among players from across the country. He commended the organizers for their efforts, stating that the event would serve as a platform for forest youth to showcase their skills and build a sense of camaraderie among participants from diverse regions.

The competition will be inaugurated on December 28 at the Science College Grounds, with participation expected from around 800 players representing states such as Andaman, Manipur, Punjab, and even the neighbouring country of Nepal. The event will feature contests in football and archery, offering a vibrant display of athletic talent.

Present at the event were Forest Minister and Welcome Committee Chairman Kedar Kashyap, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, State President Umesh Kachhap, Secretary Dr. Anurag Jain, and other committee members. The initiative is anticipated to strengthen sports culture and empower forest-dwelling communities through meaningful engagement.
